The problem
MARPOL waste needs to leave the ship, reach an approved reception facility, and be properly documented — from Annex V garbage to Annex I sludge and slops.
With NautilusLog and TGM, waste reporting, disposal and documentation are connected. The crew reports waste through the NautilusLog mobile app, TGM coordinates suitable disposal options through its global network, and the entire process is supported by transparent digital documentation.
Who does what
TGM provides and is responsible for the waste-management service. NautilusLog is the on-board software that makes it more convenient and efficient. Neither does the other's job.
TGM plans and coordinates the disposal in port, runs and audits the network of disposal companies, keeps the MARPOL documentation, and covers SPRO requirements in China. The service, and responsibility for it, is entirely TGM's.
Your crew records each waste stream in NautilusLog on board and communicates with TGM through it, ship to shore. Requests, confirmations, and disposal receipts move digitally, in software the crew already uses.
NautilusLog does not dispose of waste and is not responsible for the service — TGM is. NautilusLog simply makes it more convenient. TGM does not run the on-board software — NautilusLog does. Together they cover the whole line from ship to shore.
